My girl is getting married this Saturday!

Tho I am very upset with the outcome of my bridesmaid's dress, I am still very excited and looking forward for the ceremony this weekend.

Sofia gave us this pretty songket and pink kain to make our bridesmaids' attire. Sad to say that it didn't turn out as I have imagined. Well, my request was very simple. I wanted a baju kurung modern with some trimmings of the songket to be sewn at the end of the sleeves. But I think it was sewn terribly, as if he got all the measurements mixed up or something. It turned out to be kind of pesak kurung but not proportionately sewn. Well, I can just ask the tailor to alter the top to make it fits nicely, but it is just time consuming. But probably I will just drop by tomorrow since I will be on leave for some court matters and later in the afternoon, my aunt wants to scout for mini dais for my engagement ceremony.

Anyhoo, a huge congratulations in advance to both  bride and groom!

The Night Our Hearts Got Stolen By Chris Carrabba

When I first heard that Dashboard Confessional was going to perform at the previous Rockaway Festival 2011, I was literally jumping up and down, called my sister to tell her the great news. I was lucky tho, as I was about to buy the tickets, my friend called and said that DC cancelled their gig. A huge disappointment. But then, a friend tweeted that DC would be coming down to KL in Feb 2012.

And yes, I was there last night, attending Dashboard Confessional Solo Acoustic Show at KL Live. Chris performed solo without his fellow bandmates. And he has proven to all of us that he still has 'it'. I grew up listening to his songs in my teen years. His songs connect to my emotion needs, songs which I can totally relate to at that point of time. And I shared the passion with the girls I grew up with during my uni days. I couldn't believe my eyes that the actual Chris Carrabba was standing in front of us, singing all the heartfelt songs while all of us sang along. And Chris really wowed us last night. He took my breath away.

Screaming Infidelities. Rapid Hope Loss. Belle of the Boulevard. Saints and Sailors. Dusk and Dawn. Again I Go Unnoticed. Don't Wait. As Lovers Go.

Those were among the songs he performed last night. But the highlight of the performance was when he sang 3 of his biggest hits back to back, Stolen-Vindicated-Hands Down. I think every single one of us was singing our hearts out when he played those songs. Epic. Just when he closed the show after Hands Down, all of us were starting to scream Encore!! We Want Moreeee!! yada yada the usual. He came back and performed The Best Deceptions. Oh man, seriously last night was to die for! And to see him live, up close and personal, totally worth every penny spent.

I hope he'll come down to KL soon enough, prolly this time with the whole band. To Chris, you made my dreams came true! Thanks for writing those beautiful songs, and please do us a favour and don't stop writing. We love youuuuuuu!

And yes, hands down that was the best day I can ever remember, always remember. And indeed you have stolen our hearts again and again.

Farewell, Suraya!

Last couple of weeks, we had a little farewell dinner cum sleepover for Suraya, since she's pursuing her Master's Degree and would be flying off a few days after. (Update: She's now doing great in UK)

So, we booked a room in Parkroyal and stayed overnight there. Haven't been doing this sleepover thingy with the girls for agessss. We used to do this during our uni days. The plan was to surprise Suraya at No Black Tie, so we waited for her and Aliaa to arrive. Lutfi and I had Ebi Tempura Udon, and it tasted really good. We had fun, chit chatting, updating ourselves with what's new with everyone. I was so happy to hang out with the girls, tho not all of them made it for dinner that night, but it was super fun. Had group photos taken by Nik Arif and the waiter.
Boe came later, skipped the dinner and joined us for the sleepover. And, she told us, probably the happiest news ever for the year, but since I promised her not to spill out anything, so I just leave it like that. Heee can't wait!

Suraya got a new Ted Baker's watch from Emir for her 26th birthday present. At first we thought it was a dictionary because it really look like one. It was a pretty watch and Suraya was in total awe :)

Spent the night talking to the girls about our plans, and stuff. It felt just like those nights in UIA where we would spent the night talking to each other until we fell asleep. And of course, the highlight of the event was obviously our UIA videos. Aliaa keeps a collection of videos during our time in UIA and it's been a must, to watch those videos whenever we have sleepovers. And obviously the mother of highlights was the H&H Show. Lulz.
Note to self: Make Aliaa to swear that she will never ever ever show that H&H vid to anyone except the SKA sisters :P

I had so much fun, it's been so long since I've had that much fun. With the never ending drama that I have to go through every day, a little time off is just what I need.

To Suraya,
I wish you all the best in everything. Please take good care of yourself, and be sure to update us on your well being often. I'm a little worried about your monthly cramps, hope that everything will be alright. Take many picssss. We're gonna miss you here. Take care yayawza! Lovesss.

Officially 24!

Just realized that this post was in my draft box for a while. Sheesh.

Alhamdulillah, turned 24 officially last Tuesday. Received so many wonderful birthday wishes from family and lovely friends, near and far, from 12am on the 6th to the next day.

Went to work as usual the morning of my birthday, I was surprised that many of my colleagues wished me before I found out that Hafiz told almost everyone that it was my birthday. Sheesh. Baru nak low profile tau :P Lutfi sent me to work that morning since he's bringing me out for birthday dinner later after work. Yoyo brought me to Kenny Rogers for birthday lunch, it was just the two of us, since Atiqah was on medical leave for two weeks starting that week.

After work, Lutfi picked me up and we went to OU for dinner at Seoul Garden. I was feeling slightly feverish and under the weather that day. It might look like I was being difficult and moody and all, but honestly I felt like I just want to lie on my bed at that time. But we still continued our plan and arrived at the restaurant. Lutfi took a plate of stuff to grill while I wait at the table, feeling quite better with the heat from the grill. And then all of a sudden, I saw my girlfriends approaching our table, with muka nak surprisekan the birthday girl but it's obvious that they were so tired rushing straight to OU from office after work. Surprise! I was shocked because I didn't expect them to come. Thank you girls for coming and thanks Lutfi for planning! All of a sudden I felt much better prolly because of the energy and good mood vibes coming from the girls and the bf.

The food was nice, but I couldn't eat much. So Lutfi ended up finishing most of the food. It was good to catch up with the girls and took some photos together. I still haven't got the group photo from Haniza's iPad. But here are some of the photos taken.

The grilled food
Suraya, who is leaving us soon to pursue her studies in UK and Aleee who is getting thinner day by day (jealous please)
Thanks Boboe for coming even though she's having her P2 final paper the following week and Haniza, who's so busy playing Snoopy with her iPad.

And the man who planned all of the suprises, thankssss!

So Lutfi was telling me that they got a surprise for me so I was waiting impatiently for the suprise. That was when the "ABC" incident happened. Let's not put too much details on the incident here :P

And there he was, handing me this large thing for me to take a look at it. So I opened and,
Tadaaaa! It was a picture collage of my loved ones holding out a shoutout note wishing me Happy Birthday! I was in all awe, and thanked everyone for it. And of course to Lutfi for his brilliant idea to put all of the pics together and voila, hence, the picture collage. I simply love it! Will frame it and put it on my bedroom wall. Thanks lovelies!

Took a few more group photos before leaving. Despite of our busy schedules, I really do appreciate so much that the girls took the time off to celebrate this special day with me. Thanks girls! I will love you to death <33

So Lutfi sent me home after the dinner. I asked if I could play with his phone but he refused and I was quite pissed because of that (mengada right?). So I went on strike of not talking a single word to him until we reached my house. Saw that the lights in front of my house were not turned on, didn't suspect anything just yet.

And when I opened the door and went into my house, I saw helium balloons of pink and white floating inside and there was my favourite song "A Thousand Years" playing and my adorable munchkins and bibik and Lutfi sang me Happy Birthday. Another suprise! Awhhhhhh I was about to cry I swear, because I seriously had no idea that I was in for another surprise after the dinner. Baby Lisya was singing Happy Birthday too and I kissed her all over. So cuteeee! Adik bought some slices of cake and Dad bought KFC. Adik told me that Lutfi planned this suprise as well. Thanks sayang!

To the man who worked so hard to plan all of the surprises for my birthday, thank you for making me the happiest birthday girl ever and for making that day a special one for me. You're simply a Godsend, and I'll cherish those special moments we spent together. I love you *hugsies*

Congrats!

Done with my Twilight updates.

I have been postponing updates on a few recent weddings I've attended in the previous weeks. Nov 11th was the most anticipated date for most bride and grooms this year. Many of my friends chose that date for their weddings. One of them, my closest friend in Scomi, Nurul, got married and I was the maid of honor. Lutfi was the groom's pengapit, bidan terjun I might add. It was a simple wedding, attended by only family members and few close friends and colleagues from Scomi. Congrats Nurul and Azis!

Us, during Nurul's bachelorette dinner

The following week, attended Nizar and Shekin's wedding at Hilton Hotel in PJ. It was a lovely wedding, met many of my uni friends there. The video presentation was something different and entertaining. And the bride's wedding attire was so pretty with the headgear and all. Congrats to the both bride and groom! Too bad none of us brought our cameras so we didn't get to snap a pic or two of the newlywed. Haih. Tried to took pics using my not so canggih BB but the quality sucks because it was quite far. The only picture I have from the wedding is a picture of me and Haniza.

And I have a few other weddings this weekend, but I don't think I would be able to make it. Sorry :(

Wishing all of my friends whom are getting married and those who have already got hitched, a HUGE congratulations and may happiness and Allah's blessings surround your life as you step to a whole new chapter!

Another SKA wedding!

One of my girls is getting married very soon!

She sent a message to us girls last night when she broke the good news to us. Sofia's engaged! She told us that Arif proposed her a little more than a week ago and obviously she said yes! But nothing official yet because Arif's gonna meet her dad, Mr. Akwal, this weekend to do it in a proper way. But of course, she claims herself engaged already, official or not and I'm so happy for the both of youuuu, which reminds me, we're gonna be related soooooon, my future niece :)

Sofia and I had been arguing for as long as I could remember on who's gonna get hitched first. Of course I was a bit terasa since she's getting married soon way before me and she's gonna get the 12.12.12 date! Sigh. But put aside all of these emo crap. Honestly, I have been longing for another SKA wedding and now that Sofia's getting married soon, we have every reason to be happy and start planning soon.
Another engagement to look for, another bachelorette party to organize and yet another wedding to plan!

Gahhhh, I'm super exciteddd!

It's FRIDAYYYY!

Just came back from lunch with insurer and colleagues at Tugu View, near the National Monument at Lake Gardens. I let the kakaks to do the ordering, and they ordered almost 7 dishes. The food was delicious! We had daging asam pedas, ayam kampung goreng, gulai rebung, siput sedut masak gulai lemak cili api, sayur sawi goreng, ulam-ulaman, and some goreng-goreng stuff.

Unhealthy, yes but satisfaction guaranteed.

When I reached there, saw a very familiar face having lunch with her colleague. Well surprise surprise, it's Haniza! She was having lunch with her manager but she was about to leave by then. She did look tired, guess from all the travelling and workload. Haih so kesian.

It was my first lunch appointment since I started working here. Discussed about work related stuff and some office stuff. Makes it easier for me to clear up all the outstanding issues in my reconciliation list later on.

Can't wait to go homeeeeee :(

Ariff's 25th

Can't believe it's Friday already! Yippeeee!

Just finished watching HIMYM season 7. But I'm not really sleepy yet. I think the effects from the supplement are kicking in. Finally! But I'll just try get myself to sleep after posting this one up.

Last Sunday night, Haniza threw a birthday party for Ariff at Sahara Tent, Shah Alam Mall. Since Lutfi couldn't make it, I decided to bring my brother along. And Baby Lisya was complaining to me that she was bored staying at home with no one to play with. So I asked my mom if I could bring her too. And thank God, my mom gave the green light even though she was a bit reluctant at first.

So almost every one was there. Baby was a bit too shy, the poor girl had to close her eyes for the whole 15mins (maybe sebab takut dekat Akemal kot :P). And then the birthday boy (or should I say man?) came with the party planner (and almost pooper as well), muka suprised jugak lah. Not sure if he faked it or he was really surprised. Lol. The food was not bad. I had a different experience when I came there with my family for dinner. The food sucked. Probably I ordered the wrong, bad tasted dish. Even Baby ate a lot that night.
And, Haniza pre ordered a teddy bear-like cake, wearing a red jersey, which was supposed to be the jersey of The Reds, numbered 25. And the cutest thing was, the bear had a pair of spectacles on! So Ariff :P

After all of us had our cake, we took some pics and guess who decided to stop by? Mr. Boyfriend! Lutfi dropped by to check on the Baby and I (since my mom called him after I didn't pick up the phone which was in my handbag, 10 missed calls please!). So sweet! Thanksssss!

Went to Haniza's house today after work. Wanted to meet her mom, the last time I saw her was years back and I just felt like I had to see her today. So picked up Haniza and we went back to her house. Haniza was a bit sick, she felt nauseous. Kesian my baby :(

I was happy to see Aunt Yan, she hasn't change a lot. Still the same 'crazy' Aunt Yan to me. As usual, we joked around and laughed like mad. It feels so good to be surrounded by people whom you are familiar with. I'm so used to Haniza's family, the warm welcome, makes me feel so comfortable around them.

I am truly blessed with every thing God has given to me. Although I tend to complain a lot, I have so many things to be thankful for. And one of the blessings was the day when I met my best friend, Haniza. Because not only I got myself a friend for life, but also another family.

Tho I doubt she'll read this entry, I love you missy :)

Haniza's Quarter to Century

Such a great weekend to end the month of May.

Celebrated Haniza's 25th birthday on Saturday. Went for lunch at Empire and then disco skating, which I hurt myself really bad, at Subang Avenue. Cool ambiance and they played really cool disco songs. But I can't skate even to save my life, hate to say this. Blergh. Boe was surprised by these couple of kids and she tripped herself and hit me so I fell on my bum before Boe hit my bum with her roller skates. Ouch, I know. My bum's still swollen really bad right now. But it was a fun experience for me. Lunch was fun, it's been a while since we all last got together. Besides the girls; Akemal, Rhaiz and Aishah Aliah joined us too. Well, the theme was previously set as colourful but all turned up with orange and blue dominating the crowd. Aishah brought colourful helium balloons and Murni baked a cream cheese red velvet cake, super yummy. Birthday girl looked so pretty and happy. It was a fun filled day for all of us :D

Coming of age

Yeay, 23 finally!

One year older and none the wiser. I don't feel super excited about this year's birthday. Probably I have a lot of things going on in my mind right now. The only extra special about this year is that I got to celebrate my birthday for the FIRST TIME EVER, with him. Oh God, that was so wrong. I made it sound as if like I'm a loser lame high school teenager that believes she's going to marry the guy she's with now. Pfft.

Okay, cut the crap short. Mom brought us to Bagan Seafood in Klang for dinner yesterday. Of course, her "son-in-law" was invited as well. Dad was in Kota Bharu for some family's meeting so I wouldn't count that as a birthday celebration. Going to ask for another one later.

Then, went to The Pink Sage at Dutamas for lunch today with my lovelies; Aliaa, Boe and Fadhil, Suraya, Nadya and Hafiz, and of course Lutfi. Due to some miscommunication, I reached there at 3.50pm. The lunch was supposed to start at 2pm, so yeah. He bought me a cake with 'Sorority Life' on it. Harussssss kantoikan I la right? Every thing went well. I finally get to meet Fadhil, Boe's boyfie. Just the guy I'd always picture Boe end up with. Someone who can take care of her.

I'm meeting Kak Saliza tomorrow for lunch. And, my McDonald's colleague are bringing me out for dinner probably on Wednesday. So yeah, I guess my birthday's gonna last for the whole week. Can save money for food for this whole week :)

So here goes,

Cuci anyone?

Cuci The Musical 2 - Hilarious from A to Z!

Went for Cuci The Musical 2 last Saturday with Haniza, Boe, Ariff, Aishah Aliah and Mukhriz at Istana Budaya. It was so funny and I couldn't stop laughing. It felt so good to spend Saturday night with my darling friends after so long. The musical was 4 hours long, so after the thing we went straight to NZ Wangsa Maju for dinner around 1am.

Didn't get to take a lot of pics but I will upload one or two pics which I have in my camera soon.

Til then, toodles~

SKA reunited (almost)

Met my darlings last Monday for dinner at Ole Ole Bali in Solaris. Miss Emirates, Shadzy, was in town recently so we decided to meet up over dinner. I couldn't remember when was the last time I was THAT happy, to be surrounded by the people you love. Nothing much, just catching up with what's going on with each and every one of us. Apparently Shadz is enjoying her job although its a bit tad tiring. The rest, complaining and whining about their sucky jobs and crazy bosses.

The food was nice. I had rice with grilled seafood, which was really good. Sofia and Shadz had this satay thingy which gave them this brilliant idea to their wild imagination. Look at the pictures and you'll know what I mean ;)

Boe was glowing, as usual. Orang tengah in love, normal la right?

Aliaa came later and we had to leave soon after that. Shadz bought us dinner and belanja-ed us Coffee Bean. Sofia gave us a ride on her new "pink cadillac" aka myvi. It's really cute and I just love the interior finishing.

And then, Sofia just had to turn on the radio and we gasped when we listen to All Cried Out. It was me, Sofia, Shadz and Aliaa - and then all of a sudden we were singing our hearts out just like the old times, when we used to have late night car rides from some of our outings during our uni days. I was being so emotional that I cried like really CRIED. Buat malu je okay. But seriously, some thing will never change and that's us. We had our share of ups and downs but we had each other back then and every thing seems so easy and not complicated at all. I just wish that we could stop growing up and taking these "adult" responsibilities. Being adult is no fun at all.

To my girls,
I would like you to know that tho we don't see each other as much as we would want to, you are always in my mind every single day, even for a split second. I will never find people like you ever again, tho maybe all of us made new friends along the way after UIA but you girls still have special places in my heart and life. Thanks for not being awkward even after so many months of not seeing each other. I know I keep on saying this and end up being busy 24/ myself, but we should make an effort to see each other more often. Hopefully if I get the new job, I would have more time for myself and not work 24/7.

To Haniza, Melina and Murni (those who couldn't come),
There will always be another day, tho Shadz might not be around to join us.

Shadz will only be back in February next year. So yeah, lets just not be strangers shall we girls?

To 6 years of sisterhood and many more years to come.

With love.

Dear Ms Bride To Be

It's nearly 1am and in less than 9 hours, my dear friend Murni will officially be someone's wife. I can't believe the BIG DAY is finally here! The first one among us to step into a new life.

Dear Mare,
Though we haven't been seeing each other much lately, but I just want you to know how happy and proud I am for you. Finally, a happy ending for you. I pray for your happiness and may this blessed holy matrimonial will last as long as the both of you shall live. I can't wait to meet little Murnis and Shahirs running around in the near future.

A huge congratulations to both Murni and Shahir!

Well one down, 9 more to go! Let's make it yearly can girls? :)

Okay, shall get some sleep now. Gotta wake up early in the morning for the big day!
